The Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum organized a speech event today to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, under the slogan "Imam Hussein, an Important and Great Symbol of Islam."

At the event, Committee Chairman Judge Muhammad Al-Salmi emphasized the importance of commemorating this anniversary to draw lessons and morals from the life of Imam Hussein in practical action to confront the American-Zionist aggression against Yemen in particular, Gaza, and the Islamic nation in general.

Committee member Judge Ali Al-Samit reviewed the events that led to the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his family.

He addressed the American aggression against the Yemeni people, its repercussions locally and internationally, and the importance of unifying ranks to protect the nation from any aggression or targeting. In turn, the Secretary-General of the High Elections Committee, Mohammed Al-Jalal, spoke about the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the greatest lessons of sacrifice, redemption, courage, patience, pride, and dignity learned from it.

He reviewed aspects of the Karbala incident and the injustice suffered by Imam Hussein and his family members, and the importance of reviving the values and principles represented by Imam Hussein (may God be pleased with him) to change practical reality and advance the nation.

Al-Jalal urged us to take advantage of this anniversary by studying the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in all its details to build our reality and prepare our youth.

The event, which was attended by the general managers and employees of the High Elections Committee, included a report on the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
