A new ship, "Handala," is set to sail today, Sunday, from the Italian port of Syracuse, aiming to break the siege on Gaza.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition announced last week that the Handala would depart from the port of Syracuse, Italy, on July 13th. The ship is part of a humanitarian mission intended to break the naval blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, despite the earlier attack by Israeli forces on the coalition's ship, "Madeleine."

The coalition affirmed on its Facebook page that the systematic targeting will not deter them from continuing their efforts to confront the blockade.

It highlighted the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, where residents face not only death but also growing threats of famine and disease.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed on Sunday that the security establishment is monitoring the preparations of pro-Palestinian supporters to send a ship from Italy to break the Gaza blockade and is tracking its movements.

On June 9th, the Israeli occupation army seized the "Madeleine," part of the Freedom Flotilla, in international waters while it was en route to the besieged Gaza Strip to deliver humanitarian aid, arresting the 12 international activists on board.
