Yemen’s Minister of Defense and Military Production, Major General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi, and Chief of the General Staff, Major General Yusuf Hassan Al-Madani, affirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces “will not remain silent” regarding what they described as the nation’s legitimate right to defend itself and shake the earth beneath the feet of the aggressors.

The statements came in a congratulatory cable addressed to the Revolution's Leader, al-Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, on the occasion of the Yemeni people’s celebration of the 58th anniversary of the glorious Independence Day, marking November 30, 1967.

In their joint message, Al-Atifi and Al-Madani said that the armed forces would sever “every malicious hand that dares to violate the sovereignty of our homeland, our sanctities, our honor, or the resources of our people.”

In addressing the criminal enemies, the cable warned:
“Let the forces of evil and arrogance, represented by America, Britain, and their criminal Zionist entity, be certain that the decisive moment has drawn near, and that their reckoning will be severe and their fate disastrous, by Allah’s permission and power.”

The message added that history has taught Yemenis that “the sun of freedom never sets, and that the will of free peoples is stronger than all attempts at domination and enslavement.” It stated that "the struggle of Yemen’s ancestors in the south against the abhorrent British occupier continues across generations, driving us today to defend the same rights and principles.”

On behalf of the Ministry of Defense leadership and all frontline fighters across the country, the cable stated that the “new enemies and their internal mercenaries, who believe they can strip the Yemeni people of this right, ignore or deny the lessons of history. These adversaries are walking the same path as the old occupier, whose end was the departure of the last British soldier on this historic date in defeat and loss. The fate of their successors and followers today, by Allah’s permission, will be the same inevitable fate.”

The cable emphasized that “our dear Yemeni people, in the north and south of the homeland, have uncovered the reality of the conspiracies and understood the intentions of those who harbor ill toward them.” No one is now capable of deceiving the people’s growing awareness or breaking their determination."

Al-Atifi and Al-Madani also praised the care and attention given by the leader al-Sayyid Abdulmalik al-Houthi to the military institution and all state institutions. They said this support serves "as a motivation to continue on the path of the martyrs, defending the Yemeni right with full faith and steadfastness, ready to sacrifice everything precious, confident in Allah’s victory, relying on Him until we achieve our goals and restore to Yemen and the nation its glory, dignity, and the standing Allah intended for it — a standing of pride, dominance, and empowerment, by Allah Almighty’s permission.”
