Grand Mufti of Yemen Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din and Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Muftah attended the closing ceremony of the 1447 AH academic year for secondary schools of Islamic sciences in the capital Sana’a and Sana’a Province, alongside senior officials and religious scholars.

In his remarks, the Grand Mufti underscored the importance of aligning knowledge with practice in accordance with the Prophetic tradition, urging graduates to shoulder their responsibility in spreading religious awareness, correcting misconceptions, and reaching communities—particularly in rural areas—with sound religious guidance.

For his part, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized society’s need for scholars and students of Islamic sciences to serve as active role models, stating that the safeguarding of society lies in knowledge and those who uphold it.

He called on graduates to strengthen their presence in mosques and community initiatives, especially with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.

Speakers at the event highlighted the role of Islamic sciences schools in preserving authentic religious education and praised the support provided by the leadership for these institutions.

A representative of the graduates affirmed their commitment to promoting Qur’anic teachings and continuing along the path of their leaders.

The ceremony was attended by a number of officials, scholars, and educational and social figures.
