The Leader, al-Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badruddin al-Houthi, on Tuesday extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to the dear Yemeni Muslim people, to the mujahideen stationed on the frontlines, to state institutions, to the esteemed scholars, and to the entire Islamic Ummah on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement received by the Ansar Allah website, the Leader explained that the blessed month of Ramadan is a great divine gift from Allah's mercy, in which Allah has opened doors of mercy, grace, and blessings, granting it preference over all other months. He added that “the blessed month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed, a great season for multiplying reward and recompense, for spiritual elevation, and for drawing closer to Allah, Blessed and Exalted. Glad tidings to those who seize this opportunity, and congratulations to those whom Allah grants success in attaining these blessings.”
He pointed out that Muslims are in great need of making conscious and wise use of Ramadan—benefiting from its Educational contribution to purify souls and cleanse hearts; from its Qur’anic light for guidance, insight, and awareness; and from its blessings to seek Allah's mercy, draw nearer to Him, seek blessings of this world and the Hereafter, and strive to reform souls so that deeds may be righteous, leading to the reform of reality and life itself.
He added that there is a pressing need during Ramadan to acquire its important gains in strength of will, patience, and spiritual energy, which help fulfill the great and sacred responsibilities of establishing justice, engaging in jihad in the path of Allah Almighty, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and striving to present the Islamic civilizational model of stewardship on earth in accordance with Allah's noble teachings and blessed light. He stressed the necessity of seizing the opportunity of the blessed month and warned against wasting time during it, describing it as precious and important.
The Leader said: “The dangers and challenges facing our Islamic nation, and what the forces of evil and arrogant tyranny—led by America and Israel—are targeting it with, and what our oppressed peoples, foremost among them the oppressed Palestinian people, are suffering as a result, should be sufficient motivation for this Ummah to return to Allah Almighty, to take up the causes of His victory, assistance, and support, to be guided by His light and teachings, and to sincerely turn to Him so that the Ummah may attain His mercy and support and so that Allah may be with it (Indeed, Allah is with the righteous).”
He noted that the blessed month of Ramadan is one of the most important seasons for achieving a major transformation if the Ummah seizes it, enabling it to create a real difference in its overall reality. He emphasized the importance during Ramadan of supporting the poor and the deprived and drawing closer to Allah through benevolence toward them, as Allah Almighty says: {And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good} (Al-Baqarah: 195). He also called for strengthening brotherly ties and social solidarity, maintaining kinship bonds, cooperating in righteousness and piety, and being cautious of the steps of Satan, bad companions, places of distraction and frivolity, and wasting the blessed nights of the holy month on television series, games, and amusement, describing such behavior as one of loss and regret.
The Leader, al-Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badruddin al-Houthi, further underscored the importance of reciting the Holy Qur’an frequently during Ramadan, increasing remembrance of Allah, and adhering to piety, with which the acceptance of righteous deeds is linked, as Allah Almighty says: {Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous} (Al-Ma’idah: 27).

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:
{O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you that you may become righteous} (Al-Baqarah: 183).
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
On the occasion of the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to our dear Yemeni Muslim people, to the mujahideen stationed on the frontlines, to state institutions, to the esteemed scholars, and to the entire Islamic nation. I ask Allah to grant us success in fasting and standing in prayer, performing righteous deeds, seizing its blessings, acquiring piety, being illuminated by the blessed light of the Holy Qur’an, attaining Laylat al-Qadr, and achieving freedom from the Hellfire.
The blessed month of Ramadan is a great divine gift from Allah’s mercy. In it, Allah has opened doors of His mercy, grace, and causes of good and blessings, giving it preference over all other months. It is the month in which the blessed Qur’an was revealed, a great season for multiplying reward and recompense, for spiritual elevation, and for drawing closer to Allah, Blessed and Exalted. Glad tidings to those who seize this opportunity, and congratulations to those whom Allah grants success in attaining these blessings.
As Muslims, we are in great need of making conscious use of Ramadan—benefiting from its educational gift to purify souls and cleanse hearts; from its Qur’anic light for guidance, insight, and awareness; and from its blessings in seeking Allah's mercy and drawing nearer to Him, seeking the blessings of this world and the Hereafter, and striving to reform souls so that deeds may be righteous, leading to the reform of reality and life. We are also in great need of acquiring its important gains in strength of will, patience, and spiritual energy that help us carry out our great and sacred responsibilities in establishing justice, striving in the path of God Almighty, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and seeking to present the Islamic civilizational model of stewardship on earth in accordance with Allah's noble teachings and blessed light. Therefore, we must be keen to seize the opportunity of this blessed month and beware of wasting time in it, for it is precious and important.
The dangers and challenges facing our Islamic Ummah, and what the forces of evil and arrogant tyranny led by America and Israel target it with, and what our oppressed peoples—foremost among them the oppressed Palestinian people—suffer as a result, should be sufficient motivation for this Ummah to return to Allah Almighty, take up the causes of His victory, assistance, and support, be guided by His light and teachings, and sincerely turn to Him so that the Ummah may attain His mercy and support and so that Allah may be with it (Indeed, Allah is with the righteous).
The blessed month of Ramadan is one of the most important seasons for achieving a major transformation if the Ummah seizes it and creates a real difference in its overall reality. It is important during Ramadan to care for the poor and deprived and to draw closer to Allah through benevolence toward them, as Allah Almighty says: {And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good} (Al-Baqarah: 195), to strengthen brotherly bonds and social solidarity, maintain kinship ties, cooperate in righteousness and piety, and beware of the steps of Satan, bad companions, places of distraction and frivolity, and wasting the blessed nights of the holy month in series, games, and amusement, for that is one of loss and regret. Attention should be given to reciting the Holy Qur’an, increasing remembrance of Allah, and adhering to piety, with which the acceptance of righteous deeds is linked, as Allah Almighty says: {Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous} (Al-Ma’idah: 27).
We ask Allah to grant us and you success in what pleases Him, to have mercy on our righteous martyrs, to heal our wounded, and to grant us victory by His support. Indeed, He is the Hearer of supplication.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Your brother,
Abdul-Malik Badruddin al-Houthi
