The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday that they targeted Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia with several ballistic missiles and drones, in response to the Saudi aggression on Sana'a International Airport.
The official military spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, explained in a statement that at exactly 1:54 PM today, the Saudi enemy carried out a blatant aggression against Sana'a International Airport, launching several airstrikes. Saree stated that the attack aimed to close the airport to humanitarian flights transporting patients and stranded individuals to and from Sana'a. He added that the Armed Forces engaged the aggression's aircraft to confront this treacherous and cowardly attack.
As part of the response to this aggression, the Armed Forces executed a military operation targeting Abha International Airport with a number of ballistic missiles and drones, which successfully achieved its objectives.
The military spokesperson emphasized that the Saudi enemy, through its reckless decision to launch an unjust attack on Sana'a International Airport, bears full responsibility and the dire consequences of this brutal aggression—which he stated serves the American-Zionist enemy—as well as any resulting repercussions.
The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirmed their determination to maintain their rightful stance in repelling aggression and lifting the unjust blockade on the country. They issued a warning to all airlines against crossing the airspace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging them to take these warnings seriously until the blockade on Sana'a International Airport is lifted.
Furthermore, the Armed Forces expressed their deep gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its assistance to the Republic of Yemen in lifting the unjust blockade on Sana'a International Airport and organizing humanitarian flights to and from Sana'a. They also paid tribute to the Yemeni people for participating in massive popular rallies in the capital, Sana'a, as well as in various governorates, districts, villages, and sub-districts, sending special appreciation to the loyal and proud tribes for their mass gatherings and authentic stances.
The Armed Forces concluded by reiterating that the Yemeni people will not accept the continuation of the aggression and blockade, asserting that the military remains fully prepared to take all necessary steps and measures to deter aggression and lift the siege.
