Ansar Allah website - Report - 4 Rabi' al-Awwal 1448 AH

In an extraordinary scene that no eye could miss and no soul could overlook, Yemen rose though it were a single spirit, pulsating with deep love and praying in the sanctuary of remembrance for the birth anniversary of the Best of Creation, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.

On the occasion of the Noble Prophet’s birth anniversary , the earth seemed to breathe, the mountains trembled, and the heavens stretched forth their shade to witness how the People of Faith and Wisdom celebrate the Messenger of Mercy, and how scenes of loyalty reveal themselves in their clearest and most beautiful form.

The sun was not shining as it usually does. Rather, Sanaa wrapped itself in a cloak of clouds, as though the heavens themselves were preparing the atmosphere for this blessed prophetic celebration and sharing in the Yemenis’ joy, honoring the one by whose light the earth and heavens were illuminated. The heat had disappeared, and the cold had not arrived. The weather seemed as though it had been created especially for this day: gentle, light, reverent—exactly like the hearts that had gathered.

The capital, Sanaa—the beating heart of Yemen—appeared as though it were a green jewel, crowned with the banners of love and adorned with lights proclaiming prayers and peace upon the Noble Prophet and his family. From the edges of the city to its center, from the heights of the mountains to the neighborhoods and alleys, the echoes of prayers upon the Prophet resounded from every corner: from shops, from vendors, from loudspeakers suspended everywhere, as though every particle of this country were celebrating, praying, and rejoicing.

Millions Stream Toward the Central Celebration Square

From the first hours of dawn, the streets of Sanaa witnessed an unusual movement: thousands of cars heading toward the grand celebration square. Men and women, elderly people and children, all carrying green banners and white hearts, came to declare—in the presence of all—that love for the Prophet Muhammad cannot be defeated, and that the light of his message cannot be extinguished.

Al-Sabeen Square, which hosted the grand celebration, appeared like a sea of people and waves of the faithful. It was filled to capacity, surpassing all estimates, while the organization was exemplary, befitting the message of this occasion and the sacred symbolism of the gathering. Al-Sabeen Square was transformed into a majestic tableau of faith, at its center the name of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in a clear expression of the exalted place he occupies in the hearts and consciousness of the descendants of the Ansar, about whom the Greatest Messenger said: “Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni.”

The celebratory scene appeared even more resplendent, as roaring crowds filled Al-Sabeen Square and the streets surrounding it, chanting devotional refrains and prophetic praises amid an atmosphere of faith and spirituality, overflowing with joy and pride.

Because of the sheer size of the crowds, camera lenses could not encompass every detail of the great scene, which stretched for several kilometers, adorned in green colors and joyous banners, alongside signs bearing slogans of love and loyalty to the Greatest Messenger. It was a distinctly Yemeni scene, belonging to a people growing ever more connected to and steadfast in their devotion to the best of creation, and standing at the forefront of peoples in commemorating his birth.

In an atmosphere of profound faith and overwhelming spirituality, millions of people joined the chanting groups in reciting religious muwashshahat:

“طلع البدر علينا.. من ثنيات الوداع..
أيها المبعوث فينا.. جئت بالأمر المطاع”

“Welcome, welcome, full moon of perfection,”

along with other expressive religious chants and hymns.

The Identity of Faith Takes Shape on the Ground

The Noble Prophet’s birthday was an explicit and renewed declaration of the identity of a people, the loyalty of a nation, and a devotion unconstrained by challenges and unshaken by wars. This gathering of millions is yet another testimony that Yemen, with its mountains and coastlines, continues to carry the banner of faith as it inherited it from the first Ansar.

From every village and city, people came answering the call of love—not under compulsion, but out of longing and pride. Despite aggression, the siege, and suffocating economic circumstances, they came forth as a lover comes to meet the one he loves, seeing neither exhaustion as hardship nor distances as long, because the spirit of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, hovers above their skies and pours into their hearts the coolness of certainty.

A Season of Education and Awareness

The occasion became a season of education and elevation. From the beginning of Rabi’ al-Awwal, events and lectures were held, while cultural and charitable activities spread throughout every neighborhood, school, mosque, and institution. People learned values from the life of their Messenger, drank from the light of his guidance, acquired education from his character, and made his remembrance a practical starting point for following his path, drawing closer to the Qur’an he delivered, and renewing their pledge to him through loyalty, obedience, love, and emulation.

The commemoration of the Prophet’s birthday in Yemen has been transformed into an open annual school, in which people are nurtured upon awareness and insight, learning what it means for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, to be the leader and teacher, the example and the path.

Sanaa Draped in Green

And if you looked down from above, you would see Sanaa bathing in green, in its squares and in the details of everyday life: cars decorated with the slogans, “At Your Service, O Messenger of Allah.” Shops displaying commemorative banners and offering discounts in celebration of the occasion. Roads adorned, minarets glowing with green lights. Children wearing scarves and carrying flags, as though everything in Yemen had uttered the name “Muhammad” and chanted prayers upon him—even the walls and streets speak of his love!

The night preceding the central celebration saw the skies of Sanaa poised for a new moment of rapture. Gunfire was fired in jubilation, and bursts of light rising into the sky seemed like stars themselves chanting in love of the Greatest Messenger. People celebrated and exchanged greetings. Gatherings were filled with words and prayers, as though the whole world were breathing in the fragrance of this remembrance that takes us back to the first light, to the moment of the birth of the best to walk upon the earth: Muhammad ibn Abdullah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.

The People Stand Resilient in Love of Muhammad

Thus, the Prophet’s birthday in Yemen was a volcano of love, a cry of loyalty, and a stance of steadfastness in the face of every tyrant who lies in wait for the Greatest Prophet and the message of Islam.

Yemen says to the world:

“We are the descendants of the Ansar, a people whose will does not break, whose patience does not diminish, and who do not bargain over their faith. We stand against tyrants because we drew patience from the Messenger of Allah, steadfastness from the Book of Allah, and dignity from the words of Allah Almighty:

{Say In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy—in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.}

And because this people have sealed their loyalty with the blood of martyrs and expressed their belonging at every moment, they today rise through the ranks of faith and celebrate the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, with the celebration of the confident and victorious.

O Messenger of Allah: here is your people in Yemen, presenting you with their love and loyalty, renewing their pledge, and remaining steadfast upon the path.

And you who said of them, ‘Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni’—here they are today, remaining true to the covenant, journeying by your light, and holding fast to your remembrance.”
