Yemeni telecommunications backs Corona fight efforts with 500 million riyals
The telecome sector, represented by the Public Telecommunications Corporation and mobile phone companies operating in Yemen, has provided 500 million riyals as a contribution to support efforts to confront Corona virus.
Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Musfer Abdullah al-Numair confirmed, in a meeting held Tuesday in Sanaa, that the Yemeni telecommunications sector’s keenness on contributing to combating the Corona virus.
Al-Numair said that “taking preventive measures to confront this virus is a societal responsibility, which requires concerted efforts to protect Yemen from this pandemic.”
The meeting called on the international community, the United Nations and the International Telecommunication Union to put pressure on the aggression countries to allow the entry of telecommunications equipment and the installation of marine cables for the Internet in Yemen.
