PM stresses enhancing efforts to protect historic cities
Prime Minister Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor stressed on Monday the importance of concerted efforts to protect historic cities, especially those listed on the World Heritage List, from all damages and distortions which they are exposed to.
The move came during his meeting with Minister of Culture Abdullah Al-Kabsi.
At the meeting, Prime Minister pointed out the importance of efforts in this period to put solutions and plans to protect the historic cities, as the old Sanaa, Zabid and Shibam Hadramout from damages as a result of the heavy rains, and help their residents in the restoration of their homes.
Bin Habtoor was briefed on the ministry’s activities presented by the minister on the damages that hit the old city of Sanaa and other historical cities in light of efforts exerted by the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities in preparation for submitting a comprehensive report to the Supreme Political Council on treatments of the damages.
