FM: Yemen witnesses the worst humanitarian crisis in the world
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf discussed here on Sunday with The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)’s President, Peter Maurer, who is currently visiting Yemen, areas of cooperation between Yemen and the Committee.
The meeting touched upon the joint activities between Yemen and the ICRC, especially during the coming period in Yemen.
In the meeting, Sharaf praised the ICRC’s humanitarian activities in Yemen, which contribute to alleviating the human suffering caused by the aggression and the siege imposed on Yemen by the US-Saudi-led aggression countries for the seventh year in a row.
He stressed the need to pressure the aggression countries to respect their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law and to end aggression and siege.
For his part, Maurer reviewed the ICRC’s activities in Yemen, confirming the keenness of the Committee’s delegation to provide all possible aspects of support to the Yemeni people to alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
