Minister of Health: the aggression prevents 50 international pharmaceutical companies from operating in Yemen

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel, confirmed that the US-Saudi aggression prevented more than 50 international pharmaceutical companies from working in Yemen.

During the first annual conference of the national pharmaceutical industries in Sana’a, al-Mutawakil explained that more than 360 medicines that need refrigeration and special transport conditions are suffering from their arrival in Yemen due to the obstacles imposed by the aggression.

More than 120 medicinal brands needed by people with chronic diseases have been permanently banned from entering Yemen.

He pointed out that there are 17 pharmaceutical factories and 20 factories under construction in Yemen, to achieve self-sufficiency and overcome the conditions imposed by the aggression and siege.

The Minister of Health stressed the importance of enhancing confidence in the local product, especially as it is of high quality and highly effective, pointing out that the national pharmaceutical industries face many challenges and must rise in their efforts.
