The President meets with the Minister of Defense, confirms keenness to make the truce successful
The President Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council – the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met with Defense Minister Major General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi and discussed aspects related to the level of commitment to the humanitarian and military truce declared by the UN.
President Al-Mashat stressed keenness to make the truce a success, open Sana’a Int. Airport and Hodeidah ports, and lift the siege to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
He reiterated the emphasis on cooperation and support for any sincere efforts that seek to achieve peace for the Yemeni people, and preserve the security, stability and unity of Yemen.
The Minister of Defense affirmed the commitment of the army and the popular committees to the truce despite the violations committed by the US-Saudi aggression and their repeated targeting of some sites.
The truce, meant to halt all military operations in the country and bring the foreign military invasion to an end, came into effect on April 2.
