Call for Readiness and Resistance: Yemeni Leader’s Address on Ashura Anniversary
In a speech delivered on the occasion of Ashura, Yemen’s revolutionary leader, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, called for the readiness and preparedness of the Yemeni people to continue confronting enemies in order to deter them and save the country from their harm. He urged them to draw lessons of steadfastness and loyalty from the Islamic school and Imam Hussain.
Sayyid Al-Houthi emphasized the need to end aggression, siege, and occupation, and to address the war issues, including those of prisoners and reconstruction. He also called for a halt to the plots aimed at carving out parts of the country.
The leader highlighted that the resilience of the Yemeni people during nine years of siege, war, propaganda campaigns, and attempts to stir up internal strife is a great divine grace. He asserted that steadfastness, patience, faith, and work would lead to victory and fulfillment of Allah’s promise.
Regarding the Jewish lobby, Sayyid Al-Houthi emphatically clarified that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was a devoted follower of Islam and the Quran, and that this was the very cause for which he dedicated his life. This cause represents the truth to be acted upon, resisting falsehood, saving the oppressed, and standing against tyrants and oppressors. He added that this cause of Imam Hussein is eternal and extends across generations until the Day of Judgment.
He drew attention to the Jewish lobby’s actions in Western countries, such as burning and tearing the Quran, which he described as the epitome of disbelief and an assault on Islam and Muslims. Furthermore, he noted that promoting gross obscenity and sexual deviance is the culmination of America and the West’s path of deviating human societies from Allah’s guidance.
The leader called on the members of the Islamic Ummah to adopt a firm and serious stance that matches the responsibility towards the enemies for their insults to the Holy Quran. He suggested that the least action could be severing diplomatic relations and economic boycott. If the Ummah’s stance does not rise to this simple possibility, he argued, it is a significant negligence towards the most critical sanctity of Muslims.
Sayyid Al-Houthi warned Western societies that the Jewish lobby is pushing them towards a precipice, where they would incur Allah’s wrath and punishment. He lamented that Western societies had reached a terrible state of slavery and called for their liberation from Jewish domination, urging them to return to the divine message.
He addressed Europeans, stating that their current reality is dangerous, crisis-ridden, and sensitive, with the West heading towards a very dangerous state. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Western civilization, which denies fundamental values and morals, and disregards Islamic principles, has become wholly barbaric in nature. As a result, he argued that such a civilization would not hesitate to take actions that may harm people, as it has lost touch with the basic tenets of humanity.
Sayyid Al-Houthi reiterated their principled position towards the Palestinian cause and their continuous efforts to cooperate and coordinate with the brothers in Palestine and the axis of Jihad and resistance. He expressed his hope that cooperation with the axis of Jihad and resistance would lead to achieving the desired goal of purifying Palestine and saving the Palestinian people.
