“Israel” Kills 4 Children in Gaza Every Hour: PCBS
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) has reported that Israeli forces are killing four children every hour in the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the PCBS added that since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza in October last year, 14,350 children have been martyred, constituting 44% of the total number of martyrs.
The PCBS further pointed out that more than 43,000 Palestinian children in the Strip are currently living without one or both parents. According to the statement, women and children make up 70% of those missing due to the aggression on Gaza, estimated by the Bureau to be around 7,000 missing persons.
On the other hand, UNICEF spokesperson James Elder stated on Saturday that more than 600,000 children in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, are suffering from hunger and fear, facing the risk of an Israeli attack on the city, which is home to about 1.5 million displaced people.
Elder added that the children and displaced families from other areas have been subjected to brutal attacks in Rafah, despite being directed to the area under the claim that it would be safe.
UNICEF has described what is happening in Gaza as a war on children, while the World Food Program warned a few days ago that thousands of children will die if aid does not enter the northern Strip.
The international community is urged to intervene and provide immediate assistance to alleviate the suffering of the children and families affected by the ongoing conflict.
