Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Muslim nations to take united action to confront Israel's increasing lawlessness and acts of aggression against the countries in the region.
Araghchi made the appeal in a phone conversation with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, where the two sides discussed the recent Israeli attacks against Iran.
“The blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, the clear threat to regional and international peace and stability, and the deliberate targeting of civilians, university professors, and nuclear facilities once again demonstrated the fact that the impunity of the illegitimate Israeli regime encourages it to commit more crimes and aggression,” he said.
The Iranian foreign minister stressed that the country’s Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the nation until the aggression stops.
Araghchi also thanked the OIC chief for his expression of solidarity and for condemning the “criminal act” of the Zionist regime.
Taha, for his part, strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran, while expressing deep concern about the attacks.
“We will work through the OIC and in coordination with the United Nations to mobilize international support against this grave violation of international norms and to help prevent further escalation of regional tensions and insecurity,” he said.
The Israeli regime launched an attack against Iran early on Friday, targeting the top military brass and multiple military, nuclear, and civilian sites across Tehran and other cities.
The Israeli aggression against Iran drew widespread condemnation from across the world.
