Yesterday, Saturday, German police prevented the continuation of a pro-Palestine march in Berlin, attended by hundreds of demonstrators protesting the genocide being committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The protesters gathered near the Wilmersdorfer Strasse metro station in the center of the German capital, waving Palestinian flags and banners bearing slogans such as "Stop the Starvation of Gaza," "Israel is a War Criminal," and "Zionism is the Cancer of the World."
The participants also chanted slogans denouncing the German government for supplying weapons to Israel and opposing Zionist crimes in Gaza.
After the protesters had covered a distance of approximately 600 meters, police stopped the march on the grounds under the pretext of committing legal violations.
Police announced via loudspeakers that they were allowing the demonstrators to hold a sit-in for an hour at the intersection of Kant and Wieland Streets in Berlin.
Tensions flared in the area between the demonstrators and the police, who imposed strict measures, leading to clashes and the arrest of a large number of participants.
With full American support," Israel" has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the offensive.
