As the Israeli war on Gaza enters its 659th day, the humanitarian crisis deepens, with starvation now claiming the lives of 122 Palestinians, 83 of whom are children. In the latest tragic developments, ten more individuals, including a six-month-old infant, succumbed to malnutrition in just the past 24 hours due to the ongoing blockade.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed the escalating death toll, with Dr. Munir al-Barsh, the ministry’s Director-General, expressing grave concern over the rapid rise in starvation-related fatalities, particularly among the youngest population. “The world cannot send even a single carton of milk to save our children,” he stated, highlighting the dire shortage of food and medicine plaguing the region.

al-Barsh reported over 3,000 miscarriages and stillbirths in recent months, attributing the tragic numbers to widespread famine and malnutrition. Meanwhile, UNICEF has warned that supplies of lifesaving therapeutic food for severely malnourished children are expected to run out in just three weeks, threatening the lives of thousands more.

Calls for urgent action have intensified, with international leaders expressing outrage. Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, demanded an immediate end to the suffering in Gaza, stating that the humanitarian crisis has surpassed all legal and ethical boundaries. “Every moment without a ceasefire results in more civilian deaths,” she lamented.

In a chilling turn, reports indicate that the Israeli army has destroyed tens of thousands of relief supplies meant for Gaza residents, including around 1,000 truckloads of vital food and medical aid. Military sources claimed that many packages were left unprotected and would be destroyed if not delivered to those in need.

As Israeli aggression rages on, hospitals in Gaza report that 11 more Palestinians have died from Israeli shelling since dawn, with a string of airstrikes and drone attacks further compounding the tragedy. The ongoing hostilities have resulted in over 203,000 casualties since the escalation began on October 7, most of them women and children, with thousands more missing and countless families displaced.

In this context, Nasser Medical Complex reported the deaths of two Palestinians as a result of an enemy drone attack on Palestinians in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, a source in the Gaza Emergency and Ambulance Service said that two Palestinians were killed and others were wounded in an Israeli attack on the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.
