US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that the option of arresting Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel remains on the table amid escalating pressure from the administration of the criminal President Donald Trump on Havana.

Hegseth stated in a press conference that Washington possesses "multiple and comprehensive options," adding that all options remain on the table.

Hegseth's remarks coincided with his visit to the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, where he is expected to meet with US forces stationed there, marking the latest visit by a high-ranking US official to the base in Cuba.

This comes less than two weeks after a visit to the base by the commander of US forces in Latin America, General Francis Donovan, who held talks with a Cuban general on the grounds. It also follows a rare visit to Havana by CIA Director John Ratcliffe last May.

This comes at a time when the criminal US President, Donald Trump, has identified Cuba as a foreign policy objective for his second term, hinting that it will become a focus of his attention after the end of the war against Iran.

Under the criminal US President Donald Trump, the United States imposed a severe embargo on Cuba by threatening sanctions against countries that supply it with fuel, causing power outages and exacerbating the worst crisis the country has faced in decades.
