Shabwa Governor blesses Qana operation, warns of oil looting consequences
Governor of Shabwa province Awad Ben Farid al-Awlaki hailed Qana operation that foiled an attempt to loot an oil shipment from the province’s coasts by the invasion and occupation forces.
In a statement to SABA, Governor Al-Awlaki confirmed his absolute rejection of all acts aimed at looting Shabwa oil and gas, calling on foreign oil companies that are still engaged in oil production in Al-Aqlah block and West Ayath to immediately cease and comply with the Sana’a’s decision to halt oil production and export so as not to be exposed to any risks.
The attempted looting of crude oil from Qana’s primitive port confirms that the aggression and mercenary forces have resorted to smuggling outlets used by the oil mafia over the past years, confirming that the decision to protect the province’s wealth was right, well considered and met the demands of the province’s people, who had already demanded a halt to the plunder of oil.
Shabwa Governor stated that the decision to stop oil smuggling revealed several looters who had been looting oil from the province for years and shared its revenues while the province lived in poor conditions of service.
He called on the Shabwa tribes to detect any looting of oil wealth in the province, emphasizing that the bloody and destructive conflicts by the occupation forces in the province were basically driven by their greed for Shabwa oil and liquefied gas.
Al-Awlaki demanded the province’s tribes to support Sana’a’s serious decision to stop oil production and export until the fate of the huge revenues looted over the past years is known.
He warned the aggression’s mercenariesnot to bring any foreign forces into the province, stressing that all military movements in the province are monitored by the national forces in Sana’a.
The Governor of Shabwa also called all foreign shipping companies to refrain from entering the ports of the province of Al-Nashimah, Qana and Belhaf, unless they had got a prior approval of the Government of Sana’a so as not to be jeopardized.
