Releasing 38 Fishermen imprisoned by the Emirati enemy in Eritrea

The General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea received 38 fishermen who were intercepted by the Emirati battleships and entreated them to the Eritrean authorities nearly twenty days ago and some others nearly four months ago.

The released fishermen stated that the Eritrean authorities confiscated their boats and equipment estimated at twenty million riyals, and they were arrested in an area called Asmat by an Emirati barge which in turn handed them over to an Eritrean boat carrying the Emirati and Eritrean flags.

They pointed out that the Eritrean authorities forced them to carry out hard work throughout the period of detention after their phone devices were confiscated .. stressing that there are more than 60 fishermen still being held in a prison called Fatima who were arrested by the UAE authorities and are being investigated by Emirati officers.

They appealed to human rights organizations and activists to urgently intervene to stop the Eritrean authorities from harming Yemeni fishermen who intentionally attack and confiscate their boats with all devices and equipment and justify their inhumane acts under the pretext that fishermen boats enter their territorial waters and these are false and fabricated charges in the sense that Eritrean prisons are filled with all Yemeni detained fishermen .
