Somalia reports first coronavirus case

Minister of Health for Somalia Fawzia Abikar Nur said her country has confirmed the first infection of the coronavirus after a person who was in quarantine was found that he has been infected.

“After quarantine and testing of four Somalis who came from China last week, we confirm that one of them was confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus,” she wrote on Twitter.

“The ministry is working to contain the disease,” she added.
