Bonyan foundation launches document to protect environment in Hajjah
Bonyan Development Foundation launched on Wednesday in Gofl Shamar directorate in Hajjah governorate a document to activate the tribal custom of environmental protection.
In the inauguration, the general director of the directorate, Ammar Al-Harib, stressed the importance of activating the tribal custom to protect the environment in the directorate and preserving the natural characteristics of the environment that distinguish Gufl Shammar, considering the announcement of the document a step in the right direction to protect the environment.
In his turn, the official of the Tribal Cohesion Council at the directorate, Sadeq Al-Karim indicated that the document translates the role of the Yemeni tribe in preserving the environment.
He explained that the document stipulates the prevention of unjust logging and preserving the animals, wild birds, and agricultural crops, noting the importance of the community’s role in raising awareness on various issues such as preserving the environment and caring for it and how to protect it from diseases and epidemics.
While the supervisor of the Al-Sharafeen Square, Abu Kamil Al-Hakim, and the officer of the project to revive the culture of societal afforestation at Bonyan, Eng. Abdo Al-Harib, stressed the role of the tribe in caring for the environment and preserving and developing it, noting the importance of preserving the environment in the Gofl Shamar, which is characterized by vegetation and greenery throughout the year.
They pointed out that the launching of the document on tribal customs to protect the environment adopted by Bonyan embodies the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state, and they praised the prominent role of the tribes of Gofl Shamar in the development side.
The inauguration was attended by members of the local authority, sheiks, social figures, and directors of the executive offices of the directorate.
