Minister of Industry directs to close shops that manipulate prices and weights
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Abdel-Wahab Yahya Al-Durrah, directed the ministry’s offices in the capital and governorates to close shops that manipulate prices and weights and refer monopolists to the appropriate regulatory authorities.
Minister al-Durra asserted during his briefing about the progress of field supervision work on markets in several directorates of the capital, taking care of controlling anyone who manipulates, monopolizes and exploits the needs of people, and legal measures will be taken, including the closure of stores.
He urged the local councils and industry offices in the secretariat and the governorates to carry out their duty and continuously implement the tasks of monitoring to protect the consumer and develop work mechanisms and follow the movement of markets daily to achieve supply and commodity stability and control violators of prices, specifications, and weights.
