Zakat Authority organizes first awareness meeting for preachers, guides in capital Sana’a
The first awareness meeting for preachers and guides was held Wednesday in Al-Sabeen district of the capital Sanaa, organized by the General Authority of Zakat, in cooperation with the Awqaf and Guidance Office in the capital.
In the meeting, Head of the General Authority of Zakat Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan confirmed the Authority’s keenness to enhance the involvement of imams of mosques, preachers, and guides in embodying the greatness, mercy, and values of Islam, especially with regard to the Authority’s work and activities aiming at achieving the social solidarity.
He indicated that the Zakat Authority would work during the coming period to correct the data of the poor and needy, register those who are entitled to Zakat, and exclude those who do not deserve, in cooperation with the community committees, including preachers, guides, and imams of mosques.
Abu Nashtan said that “What is waged by the aggression coalition’s trumpets against the Zakat authority confirms that the authority is moving in the right way and implementing the tasks assigned to it.”
He wondered, “Where these trumpets were when Zakat funds were absent for decades and were spent outside of its rightful fields, and no sound was heard.”
