Palestinian Factions Condemn Israel’s Overnight Strikes on Gaza

Palestinian factions on Wednesday condemned Israeli forces’ conducting attacks on at least three sites in the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum stressed that the continued escalation of the Zionist enemy on Gaza and the bombing of the resistance sites confirms that it is continuing its policies and crimes.

In a statement, Barhoum emphasized that Hamas could not accept the blockade of the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Palestinian people and their resistance would not continue to remain silent.

“The Zionist escalation will not discourage our Palestinian people and resistance from continuing the path of struggle to defend their rights and freedom and put an end to the suffering and siege of Gaza,” he said.

Barhoum pointed out that the unjust siege imposed by the occupation on more than 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for 14 years, aims at destroying the lives of its residents and isolating them geographically, socially and politically.

“The continued targeting of Gaza comes as part of the comprehensive aggressive policy on all of Palestine, which is inseparable from targeting our people in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian interior in 48.”

Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine confirmed that the resistance will continue to take all possible reasons to respond to the Zionist aggression, and that the enemy’s threats will not succeed in intimidating the Palestinian people, and pressuring them to stop any form of resistance.

Commenting on the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, the leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine stressed that all forms of resistance are one of the rights of the Palestinian people to force the occupation to end the siege.

“The Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, takes many forms, including the continuation of the siege, restrictions and all forms of aggression, in addition to the military attacks by firing bullets at farmers or citizens in their homes,” Shehab noted. “These are unacceptable matters. It is the right of the Palestinian people to live in dignity, which must be realized by all parties. Our people have the right to defend their right and we will not allow the occupation to impose new rules of conflict, and impose siege as an order.”

Earlier the day, the Israeli military has carried out overnight airstrikes and artillery attacks on several parts of the besieged Gaza Strip, with no immediate reports of casualties.
