Sayyed al-Houthi: the height of deviation in Islamic history was during the Umayyad era

Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi said that the culmination of deviation in Islamic history was during the era of the Umayyads who carried the banner of hypocrisy and fought the true and authentic Islam.

In his speech on Al-Masirah T.V channel on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali, peace be upon them, Sayyed al-Houthi explained that without the great efforts in the line of guidance and its symbols and the good people of the Islamic nation, the Umayyads would have been able to obliterate the landmarks of Islam and distort them completely.

Sayyed al-Houthi asserted that the Umayyads had fought the religion by various means to prejudice the most important sanctities of Islam, such as insulting the Prophet Mohammad, ridicule, disregarding the Qur’an, demolishing the Kaaba, and killing the nation’s great people, the sons of the Messengers.

He also confirmed that Imam Zaid broke the barrier of tyranny at Hisham bin Abdulmalik, and act the position imposed by the real Islam in the face of the Jew who was offending the nation’s messenger (Prophet Mohammad).

Imam Zayd ibn Ali, a descendant of the Prophet Mohammad through Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, Imam Husayn, and Imam Ali Zayn al-Abideen rose against the tyrannical rule of the Umayyad empire and was martyred in 740 CE.

Sayyed al-Houthi added that Imam Zaid is an extension of the line of guidance when some advised him to be silent, he used to say his famous saying among Muslims: “By Allah, the book of Allah (the Qur’an) doesn’t allow me to keep silent”.

Sayyed Abdulmalik explained that Islam gives human beings freedom in its true sense so that people are not enslaved to anyone except to their Creator.
