Ceremony of Al-Samad Martyr Award for grain farmers held in Al-Mahwit
The distribution ceremony of the Martyr Al-Samad Prize for Cereals Production for the year 2019-2020 was held in Al-Mahwit province yesterday, where it was organized by the General Organization for the Development and Production of Grain under the supervision of the Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and in coordination with the leadership of the local authority in Al Mahwit.
The first winner of the award received manual and saddle plowing, while five farmers from six directorates obtained manual cultivators according to the standards and conditions specified in the award project.
During the inauguration, which was attended by the Governor of Al-Mahwit, Major General Faisal bin Haider, the Secretary-General, Dr. Ali Al-Zaykum, the Governors Undersecretary, Abdul Hamid Abu Shams and Yahya Abdu Ibrahim, the Head of the Intelligence Service, Zaid Al-Shami, and the Director of the Governorate Security, Brigadier General Ahmed Madaes.
The Major General Bin Haider explained that the inaugurating of the activities for the distribution of the Martyr Al-Sammad Award coincides with the beginning of the commemoration activities and events of the annual martyr’s anniversary, in which we remember the martyr’s leader, Saleh al-Sammad.
Bin Haider also stressed the importance of such activities and awards to support the agricultural sector in light of the current economic challenges imposed by the continued aggression and blockade on Yemen.
He pointed to the keenness of the governorate leadership and the local authority to implement the directives of the political leadership to pay attention to the project of the martyr al-Samad and translate it into the construction and development process, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Grain Corporation in motivating farmers.
The ceremony included multiple performances and honoring the award winners who expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Grain Corporation in encouraging grain farmers and paying attention to the agricultural sector.
