Raed Jabal: The continued closure of Sanaa airport is a war crime
Head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology Raed Jabal confirmed on Sunday that Sana’a International Airport is a civilian airport closed by the US-Saudi aggression coalition, since August 2016.
Jaba said in a statement that the airport currently receives international flights and humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen and provides it’s civil and air navigation services in accordance with international requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
“The United Nations and its employees are informed, through their movement back and forth, on a daily basis, on the mechanism of work at the airport in accordance with the required safety standards, in light of the continuous aggression targeting the airport and its facilities,” he said.
He pointed out that the closure of Sanaa International Airport by the aggression caused a humanitarian catastrophe, with the testimony of the United Nations and international organizations.
He held the aggression coalition fully responsible for the consequences of the closure of the airport and the continued bombing of it directly.
