Renewed anti-racism demonstrations in Minneapolis, USA
The suburbs of Minneapolis in the north of the United States, witnessed a seventh night of demonstrations after a young man with a dark complexion was shot dead by a white policeman during a regular check last Sunday, while journalists confirmed that the police attacked them.
According to Agence France-Presse, about 500 people gathered throughout the evening in front of the Brooklyn Center police station.
On Friday, the police announced that they had arrested about 100 people for violating the curfew and illegal assembly.
On Saturday, however, the police initially remained behind the gates set up in front of the police station, but after more than a hundred protesters continued to gather at the site after the curfew began at 23:00 (04:00 GMT), the police called them by loudspeaker to disperse quietly before dozens of riot police dispatch.
The young black-skinned man was killed in Brooklyn Center after a policewoman shot him during a normal traffic check, confirming that she had made a mistake and used her pistol, thinking that it was a stun gun.
