Yemeni air defenses shoots down an American spy drone over Marib

The Yemeni air defenses have on Saturday shot down a spy drone belonging to US-Saudi aggression in Marib province, Yemeni army spokesman said in a statement.

Army spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, affirmed the air defenses were be able to down a US “Scan Eagle” spy drone, operating by the Saudi Air Forces, while it was carrying out hostile missions over the airspace of Medghal district.

The drone was hit with a surface-to-air missile, he added.

The shooting operation was documented by the military media, and the scenes of the operation and the wreckage of the aircraft will be broadcast later, he stated.

It is noteworthy that the “Scan Eagle” aircraft is produced by the “Incito” company, a subsidiary of the American “Boeing” company, and has modern specifications, as its weight ranges between 14-18 kg, and it can transport 3.4 kg of payload, and its speed is 148 km per hour. It can fly in the air for 24 hours at an altitude of 5950 meters, and according to some sources, its price is more than 11.2 million dollars.
