100,000 Americans Killed by Licensed Firearms

Quting from almasirah, American networks reported that there has been a noticeable increase in purchase rates of firearms by African Americans, Latinos and Asians, noting that this comes after the increase in hate attacks in the United States.
ABC News said that its report on the increasing purchase of guns from Asian, African and Hispanic people indicates that some of them no longer feel safe in the United States, while others say that groups supporting the right to own guns are responsible for increasing their sales during past months.

The report indicated that fear pushes some Americans to buy firearms, especially with the increase in hate crimes, noting that the year 2020 recorded the highest rates of this type of crime in 10 years, according to FBI statistics.

During the period from 2019 to 2020, the rate of hate crimes against African Americans increased by 40 percent, and 2,755 incidents of this type were recorded, which means that they became the most targeted group for this type of crime in the United States.

According to the report, police killings and xenophobic hate speech have made the societal division in the United States more intense, prompting fear of hate crimes to buy new firearms.

The report indicates that the past five years from 2016 to date have witnessed the deaths of 98,216 people, in addition to 194,762 deaths, due to violence related to the use of individual weapons.

Firearms-related violence has killed 409 people and injured 802 over the past week, and during the past year alone, it caused the deaths of 19,326 people, in addition to 37,762 injured people.

The network pointed out that the Association of Firearms Owners of African Origin receives new members, with an average of 1,000 new members each month, with the increasing demand for gun purchases.
