Ambassador Sabri meets Yemeni students on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Independence Day, November 30
Yemeni Ambassador to Syria Abdullah Sabri participated in a meeting organized by the Yemeni Student Union at Tishreen University in Latakia province, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Independence Day, November 30, when the last occupied British soldier evacuated from southern Yemen.
In the meeting, Ambassador Sabri stressed the importance of the role of the educational front in the epic of steadfastness and defiance to confront the US-Saudi aggression and blockade, as well as in the renaissance and advancement of Yemen in various development fields.
He said, “Yemen is fighting today the second battle for independence, and the free Yemeni people will not rest until this achievement is accomplished, as the honorable fighters did in the recent past.”
The Yemeni ambassador to Syria stressed, while listening to the students’ interventions and their questions about their academic conditions and the obstacles facing some of them, that the embassy, in cooperation with the Cultural Attaché, is working to overcome all difficulties in order to help the students to proceed with their educational path and achieve their aspirations that are consistent with the higher interest of the country.
For his part, the vice president of Tishreen University praised the perseverance of the Yemeni students and their positive academic and behavioral level, stressing that the university is making every effort to serve its Syrian and Arab students.
The Yemeni ambassador to Syria participated in the opening of the “Faces of Light” exhibition in its third edition, which was hosted by Tishreen University on the occasion of the Yemeni revolution and the Syrian Tishreen holidays, under the auspices of Dr. Mirna Dalal, Secretary of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party branch at the university.
Dr. Dalal saluted the sacrifices and blood that was shed for freedom and sovereignty in Yemen and Syria, and said: “This event is an occasion to commemorate the glorious October holidays in Syria and the Yemeni revolution, and on the other hand, it is a tribute to the martyrs and the torches of light that dispelled the darkness of the road to reach a promising future for our generations.”
