Vigils in capital commemorating departure of US Marines from Sana’a

The people of the capital’s secretariat, after Friday prayers, organized vigils to commemorate the departure of the US Marines from Sana’a on February 11, 2015.

The participants in the vigils emphasized that the American was during the period in control of the decision-making in Yemen and sought to tear the social fabric of the Yemeni people, fuel internal conflicts, spread drugs and corruption, and assassinate, detonate, kill and commit crimes in Sana’a and other Yemeni provinces.

They pointed out that the September 21 revolution thwarted the project to occupy Yemen, took the Yemeni people out from external tutelage, uprooted American hands, and ended the presence of the American Marines, who had to break and smash their weapons with their own hands and fled Yemen on February 11, 2015.

A statement issued by the vigils stressed the importance of remembering this day and the bad attitudes and situation that preceded the September 21 revolution, through which the Yemeni people rose up against the influence of the American presence, which was in control of all fields in Yemen.

The statement indicated that this historic victory represented by the exit of the US Marines from Yemen comes by God’s grace and the sophistication of the leadership of the revolution represented by Mr. Abdulmalik bin Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the Quranic approach that he followed.

He denounced in the strongest terms the Saudi regime’s assault and arrest of the Yemeni citizen Marwa Al-Sabri, and sentencing her to a full year in prison just for saying a word of truth in front of an unjust sultan, stressing that the Yemeni people will not stand idly by in front of these crimes, calling for her release without restriction or condition.

The statement expressed sincere condolences to the Syrian and Turkish peoples for the victims of the earthquake that struck a number of Syrian and Turkish regions and cities, leaving thousands of victims. It called on Arab and Islamic countries to quickly provide them with urgent aid.
