The people of Biddah in Marib condemn the crime of burning copies of the Holy Quran

Today, Friday, the people of Al-Muthaf district in Biddah district of Marib governorate organized a vigil after the Friday prayer to condemn the Swedish authorities’ allowing extremists to burn copies of the Noble Qur’an.

The participants in the vigil stressed that the burning of copies of the Holy Qur’an, with the support and blessing of the Swedish government, reflects those governments’ extent hostility to Islamic sanctities and symbols.

A statement issued by the vigil considered the crime of burning Qur’an a provocation to the feelings of two billion Muslims in the world, a flagrant violation of international covenants, norms, and human rights principles that criminalize infringement of religious symbols and sanctities for all peoples of the world.
