Over 36,514 Palestinians Killed, Missing in Gaza Due to Zionist Massacres

The Gaza government media office has reported that the toll of casualties from the ongoing Zionist aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7 has climbed to over 36,514 martyrs and missing and 69,616 others wounded.

In a statement released on Friday evening, the office detailed that during the 140 days of the genocidal war, Israeli enemy forces committed 2,573 massacres. Among the victims, 13,000 children and 8,800 women were killed.

Additionally, 13,000 medical personnel, 47 civil defense personnel, and 130 journalists lost their lives. The number of missing persons reached 7,000, with 70% being children and women. The total number of injuries stood at 69,616, including 11,000 wounded requiring urgent medical treatment to save lives.

The statistics also revealed that 17,000 children are now living without one or both parents, indicating the displacement of 2 million people within Gaza.

Furthermore, there are 700,000 people infected with infectious diseases due to displacement, with 8,000 cases of viral hepatitis recorded as a result. Approximately 60,000 pregnant women face risks due to limited access to healthcare, while 350,000 chronic patients are at risk due to medication shortages.

Regarding arrests, the office documented 99 arrests of healthcare personnel and 10 arrests of known journalists.

The Israeli occupation’s aggression against Gaza resulted in the complete destruction of 52,500 housing units and partial damage to 254,000 more. Additionally, 312 mosques, 3 churches, and 2,282 schools and universities were damaged, with 90 rendered inoperative.

213 hospitals and health centers were deliberately destroyed, with 102 ambulances damaged. Displacement caused by Israeli bombings led to 327,000 cases of infectious diseases.

The office noted the deliberate disruption of communications networks and the Internet by the Israeli occupation for the fifth time since the start of the genocidal war, exacerbating humanitarian crises.

It condemned the deliberate targeting of journalists in Gaza, labeling it a full-fledged crime and a violation of international law aimed at intimidation.

Amid this dire humanitarian situation, conditions for the displaced are worsening, with over 1.5 million people displaced in Gaza facing severe shortages of food, water, and medicine. Poor shelter conditions and the onset of winter, rain, and extreme cold exacerbate their suffering.

The halt of humanitarian aid entry into Gaza is condemned as a tactic to pressure Palestinians, depriving them of vital resources and effectively issuing a death sentence to 2.4 million people.

The office warned the free world, international organizations, and global communities of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe inflicted by the occupation, especially its targeting of the health sector and hospitals.

It held the US and the international community responsible for the genocidal war, accusing them of enabling the occupation’s actions with approval and support, aiming to eliminate Palestinians through killing or displacement.

The Israeli regime has been waging a genocidal war on the coastal territory since October 7, 2023, when Gaza’s resistance movements conducted Operation al-Aqsa Storm against the occupied territories.
