White House Says Rafah Massacre Did Not Cross Biden’s Red Line over Supporting ‘Israel’

In response to the barbaric Israeli airstrike in Rafah, Gaza, the Biden administration has expressed deep concern but stated that the recent massacres do not signify a major operation that would impact aid or policy. Despite the death and destruction, officials stressed that Israeli actions do not cross established red lines.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby reiterated Israel’s claim that the bombing of the refugee tents in Rafah was a “mistake.” The administration has not set specific criteria for when such incidents would warrant a change in policy regarding aid.

Vice President Kamala Harris called the airstrike “beyond tragic,” expressing concern over the potential isolation of ‘Israel’ on the international stage. The recent massacre resulted in the death of 45 Palestinians, with many burnt to death in the attack on a camp set up in UNRWA warehouses in Rafah.

The Israeli occupation forces have faced criticism for the concentrated and deliberate bombing of a center for forcibly displaced persons, causing numerous casualties. Ambulance and other emergency teams are working to rescue those still trapped in the camp. The targeted area housed roughly 100,000 displaced persons.
