Al-Houthi Highlights Weaknesses in Israeli Defense Systems After Yemen’s Hypersonic Strike
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, member of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, commented on Saturday about the failure of Israeli and Western defense systems to protect the occupation from Yemeni missile strikes.
In a post on his X account, Al-Houthi stated: “The Iron Dome system does not provide security for the temporary entity’s terrorism against the Yemeni hypersonic missile ‘Palestine 2’.”
He emphasized the continued failure of Israeli, American, and European defense systems, adding that Yemen’s development efforts in this area persist.
On Saturday, the Yemeni Armed Forces launched hypersonic missile strike on a military target in occupied Yaffa. The missile, named “Palestine 2,” reportedly struck with precision, bypassing Israeli interception systems, which were unable to counter the attack.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, the Armed Forces spokesman, called the operation a significant success, reaffirming Yemen’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.
Israeli military officials implicitly acknowledged the failure of their air defense systems following the attack, which reached deep into occupied territories.
Channel 12 Hebrew reported that Zionist military leaders admitted the recent Yemeni missile strikes exposed major gaps in Israel’s air defense systems. They speculated that the missile might have followed an undetectable trajectory or that its warhead altered its path and speed, rendering interception impossible.
Similarly, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that Yemen had targeted Tel Aviv for the third time in a week, resulting in dozens of injuries.
The Maariv report also highlighted growing concern within the Zionist entity, noting that the Israeli military and intelligence community reacted too late to the emerging threat from Yemen. Now, efforts are underway by Mossad and military intelligence to piece together an understanding of Yemeni capabilities.
