Before the 60 Days or After… Hezbollah Prepares to Discipline the Entity

Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has put an end to what he described as the baseless rhetoric of the Israeli entity, which continues to express its chronic affliction. Sheikh Qassem emphasized Hezbollah’s principled approach to agreements, rooted in Islamic ethics that mandate honoring commitments. Echoing this sentiment, Resistance Loyalty Bloc MP Hussein Jashi stated, “We adhere to the agreements on the basis of holding [Israel] accountable for its actions. The enemy benefits from American complicity, as the committee overseeing the ceasefire is led by the United States, which supplies Israel with weapons and resources while simultaneously acting as a mediator and chair of the ceasefire committee, unchallenged by anyone.”

Escalating Israeli Violations

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation, unbound by any ethical considerations, has continued to exploit its false narrative of victory by violating the ceasefire agreement with hundreds of breaches. These violations have destroyed buildings and claimed the lives of several Lebanese civilians. True to its history of breaking agreements, the entity uses these actions to establish a narrative of unchecked aggression and reinforce its violent image, aiming to deter those who might challenge it.

Such actions, however, reflect what Hezbollah describes as the entity’s “demonic and depraved mindset,” stripping it of humanity and reducing it to an existence governed solely by primal instincts.

A Crushing Blow Awaits

Sheikh Naim Qassem issued a stern warning in response to the nearly 400 Israeli breaches. However, Lebanese MP Hussein Hajj Hassan indicated that the violations since the ceasefire have exceeded 1,000, signaling the potential for a confrontation that could deal a severe blow to the Israeli entity. These repeated breaches are viewed as Israel’s desperate attempt to restore its deterrence capabilities, which were diminished during previous confrontations with Hezbollah.

Despite facing challenges, Hezbollah remains resilient, with a wealth of strategic surprises ready to deliver a painful lesson to the Israeli entity. Sheikh Qassem refrained from detailing specific actions following the ceasefire period but expressed confidence in Hezbollah’s experience, capabilities, and readiness, as demonstrated in its history of countering Israeli aggression including infamous incidents like the Pager Massacre and targeted assassinations of its leaders.

Israel’s Failed Gambit

Israel initially wagered that assassinating Hezbollah leaders would weaken the group. Instead, Hezbollah emerged stronger, unveiling advanced weaponry that caught the entity off guard. Hezbollah’s operatives executed decisive operations that forced the enemy’s government to request a truce. As Sheikh Qassem affirmed, the party is now recovering from its wounds and stands fully prepared to demonstrate to both the United States and “Israel” that their objective of dismantling the Lebanese resistance has been trampled under the feet of the resistance.

MP Hussein Hajj Hassan affirmed that “the resistance has recovered, is regaining its strength, and remains capable of facing all challenges.”

Resistance Operates on Its Own Timeline

During the ceasefire, Hezbollah has faced criticism for its perceived inaction toward Israel’s violations. Sheikh Qassem addressed these critiques by asserting that the group’s leadership alone decides “when, how, and with what weapons” to resist. He clarified, “There is no timeline dictating resistance operations; our patience regarding Israeli breaches is tied to the appropriate timing for confronting the enemy.”

Any potential resurgence in hostility, including the exchange of fire with the enemy’s army or even targeting the core of the occupation with impactful operations akin to those that severely destabilized it before the agreement, will be the responsibility of the agreement’s sponsors, especially if the Israeli entity continues to delay implementing its commitments under the agreement. A key provision of the deal mandates Israel’s gradual withdrawal south of the Blue Line within 60 days, accompanied by the deployment of the Lebanese army and security forces along the border. To date, this provision remains unfulfilled.

The End of Israeli Impunity

The possibility of renewed clashes stems from Israel’s characteristic arrogance, perpetuating crimes and fueling continuous regional tension. Despite international concerns about escalating violence, ceasefire sponsors, particularly the United States, have not put any action to pressure Israel to meet its obligations, thereby emboldening its ongoing attacks.

Former Lebanese government liaison to “UNIFIL” and ex-Military Court head General Mounir Shehadeh, warned that Hezbollah might take decisive action if Israel does not withdraw. National Defense Committee Chair, MP Jihad al-Samad, emphasized, “As long as rights remain unclaimed and occupation persists, resistance will always exist. This is a firm stance. We demand those who gave guarantees ensure these agreements are implemented. The Israeli entity cannot continue its unchecked operations in Lebanon.”

Preparing for Post-Ceasefire

Given Israel’s persistent violations, including demolishing homes, burning properties, incursions into Lebanese towns, land and road leveling, and sweeping armed patrols, it is increasingly apparent that Israel has no intention of honoring the U.S.-brokered agreement. This reality compels Hezbollah to prepare for the post-ceasefire phase.

Political analyst Mounir Shehadeh noted, “Israel will neither withdraw nor honor the agreement. The international community and the oversight committee remain powerless to enforce it, while Lebanese diplomacy struggles to secure any commitments to hold this criminal entity accountable.”

American hypocrisy was reflected in its suggestion that Lebanon should “give Israel another chance to meet its goals before withdrawing.” For Hezbollah, however, the message is clear: preparations are underway to address Israel’s continued aggression once the ceasefire period ends.
