The Swiss city of Geneva witnessed a demonstration in which thousands of people participated in solidarity with the peoples of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.
The demonstrators gathered in the “English Garden” in the center of the city, then set off on a march to the United Nations office in Geneva in solidarity with the peoples of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, who are united by their exposure to Israeli aggression in the recent period.
The demonstrators carried Palestinian and Lebanese flags, chanting slogans against “Israel”.
The demonstrators demanded the imposition of economic and diplomatic sanctions on “Israel”.
In a speech he delivered in front of the United Nations office in Geneva, Hussein Durmaz, a member of the International Health Initiative coming from Turkey, said that they gathered not only in solidarity with Gaza, but “to defend the common conscience of humanity”.
Durmaz added, “What is happening in Gaza is not a test for that region only, but for all of humanity.
“Gaza is a symbol of those struggling under a harsh siege.” The demonstration lasted for about two and a half hours amid tight security measures.
