World Food Programme: No supplies enter Gaza since March 2 due to the closure of crossings

The World Food Programme (WFP) said it has not transported any food supplies to the Gaza Strip since March 2 due to the Israeli enemy’s closure of all crossings to humanitarian and commercial supplies.
The UN programme explained in a statement on Friday that commercial food prices have been rising since the closure of the crossings.
It confirmed that the prices of some basic commodities, such as flour, sugar, and vegetables, have increased by more than 200%, explaining that some local traders have withheld goods due to uncertainty about the arrival of new supplies.
The programme stated that it currently has sufficient food stocks to support kitchens and bakeries operating in the Strip for up to a month, in addition to ready-to-eat food parcels to support 550,000 people for two weeks.
It pointed out that it currently supports 33 kitchens across Gaza, providing 180,000 hot meals daily, in addition to 25 bakeries, six of which were forced to close due to a shortage of cooking gas.
In early March, the enemy closed all crossings into Gaza to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid, following its reneging on the ceasefire agreement in the Strip, amid American disregard and international silence.
While the enemy evades entering the second phase of the agreement and ending the war as agreed upon, it continues to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
It has also cut off the limited electricity to the desalination plant in the central Gaza Strip.
In contrast, Hamas repeatedly affirms its commitment to the ceasefire agreement, demands that the enemy adhere to it, and calls on mediators to immediately begin negotiations for the second phase.
With American support, the enemy army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 160,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.
