Bloodshed in Gaza: Israeli Strikes Kill Over 100 Palestinians in 24 Hours
In a devastating escalation of aggression, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza Strip have killed at least 112 Palestinians since Thursday morning, with the majority of the victims reported in Gaza City. The attacks have exacerbated an already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.
The Israeli occupation military targeted a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood, killing 31 people, including women, children, and the elderly. Three others remain missing, and dozens were injured in the attack.
“This is yet another brutal crime by the fascist Israeli government, escalating its genocide against innocent civilians in Gaza,” said Hamas, the Palestinian movement that governs the enclave.
The airstrikes have also hit multiple schools across Gaza City, further straining the region’s battered healthcare system. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, the Israeli regime has now bombed 229 displacement and shelter centers, a flagrant violation of international law.
“The health
sector is on the verge of total collapse due to the destruction of hospitals and the ongoing blockade, making it extremely difficult to provide medical care to the wounded,” the office added.
The Israeli occupation army issued new evacuation orders for residents in several neighborhoods of Gaza, as the relentless bombing continues to drive mass displacement.
Hamas has condemned the “heinous massacre” and called for a global “day of rage and mobilization” on Friday in support of Gaza and in protest against the “US-backed Zionist massacres.”
Since the Israeli occupation resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, more than 1,200 Palestinians have been killed, and over 3,000 have been wounded, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense.
