Yemen’s Stance on Palestine Hampers U.S. Plans in the Region, Deputy Prime Minister Asserts

Yemen’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security, General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, affirmed on Monday that Yemen’s supportive stance towards the Palestinian people and the resistance in the Gaza Strip is progressive and has hindered the plans of the United States in the region. He pointed out that the ambitions of the U.S. and Britain in the Red Sea are inseparable from the strategy of protecting the Zionist entity.

Speaking at a political seminar on the situation in the Red Sea, Al-Ruwaishan stated, “The advanced Yemeni position in support of Gaza has obstructed Washington’s plans in the region.” He clarified that “the American strategy to support the Zionist enemy is not separate from the ambitions to control the Red Sea, and that Britain still recognizes the importance of the Red Sea and the necessity of having influence over it.”

He further emphasized that “America is trying to divert the world’s attention from Yemen’s position with Gaza to issues of international navigation, high prices, and others to distract from this position.”

This comes after the American network “CNN” revealed on Friday that “the U.S. Department of State and the Pentagon have begun efforts to sway international and local public opinion against Sana’a and the Yemeni armed forces. This is with the aim of creating pressures to stop the impactful attacks on ships associated with the Zionist entity, the United States, and Britain in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden, after the failure of the military aggression to achieve any results.”
