Kiev Regime behind Terrorist Attack on Moscow: MOD

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that Ukraine launched a drone attack on Moscow early on Tuesday, with eight unmanned aerial vehicles used in the attack.

“The Kiev regime launched a terrorist attack with unmanned aerial vehicles on targets in the city of Moscow,” a statement from the ministry said.

The raid involved eight aircraft-type UAVs, all of which were hit; three drones that were suppressed by electronic warfare measures went out of control and deviated from their intended targets, the statement added.

The remaining five drones were shot down by a Pantsir-S air defense systems operating outside Moscow, according to the MOD.

This comes after Sergey Sobyanin, Moscow’s mayor, initially confirmed several buildings had been slightly damaged by the attack.

“In the early hours of this morning, a UAV attack caused minor damage to several buildings. No one has been seriously injured. All emergency services in the city are on the scene. Please only trust official sources of information and do not spread unverified information,” Sobyanin said.

Sobyanin, has announced that several entrances in two buildings that were recently hit by a UAV had to be evacuated due to safety concerns. However, residents will be able to return to their apartments once the special services’ work is finished.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, revealed that air defences successfully shot down several drones that were approaching Moscow this morning.

Vorobyov has requested that residents remain calm while emergency services handle the situation.

These drone-related incidents come after Moscow accused Ukraine of attempting to strike the Kremlin with drones earlier this month, which prompted the Investigative Committee to start an inquiry into the matter.
