Yemeni Armed Forces Announce Successful Strike on Israeli Ship in the Arabian Sea
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Tuesday evening that they successfully targeted the Israeli ship “MSC SARAH V” in the Arabian Sea with a new ballistic missile. This strike comes as part of Yemen’s ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian cause and retaliate against Israeli actions in Gaza.
In a statement, the Yemeni military confirmed the precise and direct hit on the MSC SARAH V, attributing the success to their newly developed ballistic missile. The missile, which has recently completed successful trials, boasts advanced capabilities in hitting targets accurately over long distances.
The military statement also indicated that the missile’s launch footage would be released by the military media at a later time, highlighting the strike’s precision and the effectiveness of their new missile technology.
The Yemeni Armed Forces emphasized their continued commitment to enhancing their military capabilities in support of Palestinian resistance and defending Yemen against American and British aggression. They reiterated that their military operations would persist until the cessation of hostilities and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza.
Earlier reports from maritime sources, including Lloyd’s List and Reuters, confirmed the attack on the MSC SARAH V, noting its proximity to Yemen and its links to Israel. The incident occurred 246 nautical miles southeast of Nashteun. Bloomberg highlighted the increasing effectiveness and frequency of Yemeni attacks, questioning the ability of the U.S.-led naval coalition to protect critical maritime routes.
In related developments, Yemeni forces have carried out multiple operations throughout June. On June 23, they targeted the Transworld Navigator in the Red Sea for the second time, using a drone, and struck the STOLT SEQUOIA in the Indian Ocean with cruise missiles.
On June 22, the Yemeni missile force targeted the American aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower in the northern Red Sea with a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles. Additionally, the Yemeni Navy attacked the Transworld Navigator in the Arabian Sea.
Joint operations with Iraqi Islamic resistance on June 22 saw Yemeni forces targeting four ships in Haifa’s port, including two cement carriers and two general cargo vessels, with drones. Another joint operation targeted the Shorthorn Express in the Mediterranean, bound for Haifa, with drones.
Further attacks included strikes on U.S. destroyers and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, demonstrating Yemen’s increasing maritime strike capabilities.
The Yemeni Armed Forces stated that their operations are a direct response to Israeli actions in Gaza and will continue to defend Yemen and support the Palestinian struggle until their demands are met.
