UNRWA Suspends Aid for Palestinians in Lebanon

United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, suspended the distribution of its emergency cash aid to the Palestinians in Lebanon, according to a statement that was issued on Wednesday, to be the third suspension in less than a month.
“The distribution process will be suspended from June 11 in order to conduct an audit, and the date of its resumption will be announced later,” the UNRWA agency released a statement.
The statement added, “We called all beneficiaries not to visit (Bob Finance) branches until we announce the date of resuming the distribution process.”
The Quds Press agency had tried to contact UNRWA officials to clarify what the audit process they had announced, but none of the officials have answered.
