Ministry of Agriculture spoils a quantity of smallpox and plague vaccines
The General Administration of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation destroyed a number of corrupt vaccines due to the unavailability of oil products used to immunize livestock against smallpox and plague diseases.
Director of Animal Health, Dr.Ahmed Al-Qadari, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that about two thousand and 200 buckets of vaccines for sheep vaccination are no longer suitable for use due to the power cut in the central veterinary laboratory in light of the continued detention of oil derivative ships.
He pointed out that the central laboratory stopped working due to the lack of oil derivatives, which exposed the vaccines provided as a grant from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to spoilage, which could cause a decline in animal production.
