The Director of the Water Corporation, “Our People Witnessing the Worst Water Scarcity Crisis in 7 Years due to the Siege of the Aggression”
Today, Tuesday, the Director-General of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the Capital, Muhammad Al-Shami, confirmed that our people are witnessing the worst water scarcity crisis in 7 years due to the siege of the aggression on oil derivatives.
Muhammad Al-Shami explained to Al Masirah TV that the Corporation is now unable to provide the minimum level of its services during the coming period due to the intensification of the fuel crisis.. He pointed out that the indicator of the Corporation’s periodic pumping of water has reached dangerous limits, and our ability to supply water to the people does not exceed pumping water twice a month.
Al-Shami said: The low pumping at a rate of twice a month is dangerous and does not suffice the citizens’ need for water.” He stressed that the corporation runs from 500,000 to 600,000 liters of diesel per month to feed the water supply to the residents of the capital at a minimum rate of 3 times per month. He added, “A number of groundwater wells The corporation’s affiliate has been out of service due to the lack of oil derivatives.”
