Abdulsalam Emphasizes Importance of International Work on Payment of Salaries, Other Humanitarian Issues
The head of national delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, reiterated the importance of the UN intensive work on disbursing salaries, opening the airport and port, and ending the siege.
“With Oman’s efforts, which provided the opportunity to extend truce we reiterate the importance of UN intensive work on disbursing salaries, opening the airport and port, and ending the siege” Abdulsalam said in a statement.
He explained that humanitarian issues are the natural rights of the Yemeni people, and addressing them urgently is necessary to enter into more serious stages.
In this context the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced that it was agreed to extend the armistice in Yemen for an additional 2 months, according to the same conditions.
He said in a statement, “I will intensify my efforts with the 2 parties to reach an agreement on a regular salary payment mechanism.”
“I will intensify my engagement with the parties to ensure the full implementation of the truce, including the full number of flights and their regularity to the agreed destinations, as well as the number of fuel vessels,” the statement added.
