Sana’a warns the aggression of looting fish wealth

Officials in the National Authority have warned of the consequences of the continued looting of fisheries wealth in Yemeni territorial waters by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggressive coalition. They stressed that this behavior is no different from looting oil and gas wealth, and that Sana’a may have to target the ships involved if the enemy insists on continuing the looting.

The governor of Hodeidah Governorate, Mohammed Ayyash Qahim, said: “The looting of oil is like looting fisheries, all of which are wealth for the country.

“Yemen’s forces will not be silent about your dredging of the Red Sea, and this is a warning,” he added.

Qahim called on the national leadership to “add the giant fishing ships of the countries of aggression to the bank of targets to stop their destruction of fish stocks and the marine environment in the occupied governorates. This is because fisheries are among the sovereign wealth and also fairness to a wide segment of fishermen who were affected by this systematic looting.”

Yemeni fishermen have been living in great suffering since the start of the war, as the forces of aggression have brutally targeted, harassed and prevented them from practicing their work, while opening the way for their ships to loot and trade fish wealth.

Many foreign media have highlighted aspects of the suffering of Yemeni fishermen and the brutal crimes committed by the coalition of aggression against them, but international complicity encourages the countries of aggression to continue with these crimes.

The Deputy Foreign Minister in the Salvation Government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, confirmed that “the catch of fishery wealth, which is estimated to be around hundreds of thousands of tons, without returning to Sana’a, is undoubtedly theft,” noting the need to stop this looting.

“Ships that steal our fish are a danger to navigation; Because it will force Sana’a to target it, and if the decision is issued, those ships will turn into burning piles at sea,” he added.

Sana’a had confirmed during the last period that it would protect Yemeni territorial waters from any threats at all costs, and that it would work to stop the enemies’ control and dominance over the sea lanes.

The armed forces recently revealed advanced and qualitative naval weapons, emphasizing their readiness to play their role in protecting Yemeni coasts and waters, and imposing full sovereignty over them.

The talk about preventing the looting of fish wealth comes after Sana’a was able to impose a decision banning the looting of oil wealth, whose revenues the enemy has worked to steal completely over the past years.
