President Al-Mashat meets with the UN envoy and confirms: We are keen to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people

His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, met today, Monday, with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his accompanying team.

During the meeting, President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of the role of the United Nations and its efforts to advance the peace process in Yemen.

He said, “We in the Republic of Yemen are keen to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the aggression, and to fulfill the people’s demands for a just and honorable peace.”

For his part, the UN envoy praised the efforts of His Excellency President Mahdi Al-Mashat in pushing the peace process forward and his keenness on the success of the truce during the previous period.
